Thankful

Here's hoping you all had a great Thanksgiving celebration with your families and friends.  We are just gearing up for the big day.  Grace says its her favorite holiday, Andra is making copies of her Christmas list to distribute after dinner, and Phil just mentioned in passing "I have an opportunity..." which is always followed by some remotely located hunting trip news (this time it is deer in Mexico).

I have done laundry, cleaned the house, washed the china, started setting the table and ironed tablecloth and napkins (which I ordinarily wouldn't do, but after reading what my cousin Jennie is doing to prepare, I set out my tablecloth and napkins and thought "No way would Jennie let that stay that way" so I pressed it).

We are having the standard turkey and stuffing.  We are adding mashed potatoes, spinach, cranberry relish and sweet potatoes.   I have decided to try creamy pearl onions this year, because the multi colored pearl onions at Trader Joes were too beautiful to  pass up.  I will have to let you know how that turns out.  Its always good to try something completely new when you are entertaining, right?  Something like that.

I am looking forward to the official kick off of the holiday season, and to spending a little down time just hanging out.  We are going to bake with Dad on Friday, and bake with ourselves on Saturday.

Phil made me a nice cup of pomegranate white tea, and I took 3 sips and I am falling asleep.  Resting up for tomorrow...
