Flash Reporter: Your Girl on the Scene
It is time for me to take a new assignment: I plan to be your personal correspondent for the upcoming Mrs. America special (they don't use the word pageant so I won't either). Make sure you read it right, this is the MRS. America event, not the MISS America event. You have to be married to participate.
Phil, in his capacity as an independent auditor, is going to assist in counting the votes - can you imagine how hard it was for him to accept this job? Spending grueling hours surrounded by hot mommas in evening gowns and swim wear paired with 4 inch heels, being forced to listen to their opinions in the interview portion? I almost feel sorry for him.
Lucky for me, and now you, he secured us tickets to the final event - the black tie, televised event where they will call him up on stage and thank him for his hard work and sacrifice. Think of me as the Joan Rivers of the Mrs. America event. I will do my best to provide you with the details of the event from my seat.
Of course, my first thought was about wardrobe - when at a black tie event surrounded by award winning, tiara sporting, hot mammas, what is appropriate for me to wear? Last night I tried on all 4 long formal dresses I own. I tried on my prom dress - made with love by my mother. I went to prom in 1986. I am pretty sure that won't win me a spot as the 52nd delegate. Then I had a bridesmaid dress I wore 14 days after Andra was born, so it is a little big. The remaining 2 choices are just nice black dresses, but I bought both over 10 years ago. Da-ted. I decided when looking at formal wear, and my life, the phrase "investment dressing" shouldn't apply - I just need the cheapest, flattering dress I can find. Hello! I will never wear it again.
On my lunch hour I went to Ross and hit the Juniors rack, and now have 2 choices. The girls have voted, and here is YOUR chance to vote.
A. Sensible black, full-length spaghetti straps with a little ruffle on the right side & and strappy black 4 inch sandals (I am sensible and confident and not afraid to dress appropriately for my age in a classic fashion)
B. Dark Teal, strapless, full-length satin with silver Steve Madden 4 inch strappy sandals (I want to relive my prom days and wish I had entered the contest myself and as long as no one here looks too close, or asks to look at my drivers license they might thing I am in my 20s)
Give me your vote...

Gee, babe ... I try always to make an informed choice when voting ... a photo of you in each choice sure would aid in my decision making...

Hm. Seems possible, I suppose. I will ponder today and see if my trusty wardrobe assistants will help me tonight. Phil picked one and the girls both picked the other, so I am in need of assistance...

Pictures...we need pictures! With the written description I vote for option A. However, a picture could cause me to swing my vote (the silver shoes are intriguing).

I echo the pictures sentiment...otherwise I have to choose option B as I just want to see what it is all about
