When the Cat is Away...
Phil is in Vegas, and as has happened before, something that needed some attention was delivered the day before he left.
Once it was saguaros, and as he was leaving, he just offhandedly commented that I needed to get the saguaros in the ground - like soon. If you have ever tried to dig a hole in Az, you know that is no small task. As I was madly, and completely ineffectively, pick axing away, Andra wandered out and commented: "You aren't tough enough to do that Mom." No kidding. But I was sure going to die trying.
This week it was a little easier - I just had to babysit the buffalo until he returns and we can nearly kill ourselves trying to get it on the wall. Phil's brother and his wife are here for a visit, so Jean decided she and the girls could take a turn entertaining the buffalo - Vegas style.
Hey, what's good for the gander is good for his buffalo, right?

(Lest you fear any abuse on behalfof the buffalo, please note the wine glass is Jeannie's.)

That is one big buffalo! My SIL has a water buffalo on her wall. He's like a member of the family.

Have you ever sat and thought about taxidermy? For me it eerily and ironically memoralizes the life of a creature by posing it in a frozen, life-like state. You ladies are giving it life after death. Has he acquired a name?

A name is sure an interesting way to go. We just named our car after 8 years (Betsy in case you were wondering) so we will have to get moving on the buffalo.
