How Much Does Mexico Cost?
We just spent a long weekend in Mexico. It was lovely. We spent 12 hours a day at the beach or the pool, and we ate. That was pretty much all we did. And the best part was how much a beach vacation in Mexico costs. Excluding food and the hotel, here is what we spent:
Hair Braiding: $35 New Swimsuits: $20
Spray on SPF 50 Sunscreen for Daughters of Norway: $18
Overpriced Boogie Board for Daredevil 7 year old: $15
Being Eggshell instead of Alabaster for a change: Priceless.
And anecdotally, note that Andra told me "Mom. I don't understand what things cost in Mexico. That lady just told me this cost $10, and then asked me how much would I give her for it?" It is very confusing.
And Grace commented that people probably won't believe that she is my daughter because she is so "brown" (as compared to my eggshell). Here's the proof:

Grace may very well have the best tan that anyone in our family has ever had. Even her palest spots are darker than my tanned areas.

Its wrong, right? People on the street comment that I must be abusive for never putting sunscreen on her, so I have showed her butt to more people in the last few weeks to demonstrate that this is just what color she is. I came real close to putting a picture of my naked backside up too, just to show that my darkest tan spots are still whiter than her white parts, but pride (and just plain old good sense) stopped me.
My husband even asked me who her father was - in a kind of mean spirited and derogatory way. Seriously, where did she get that skin?
I'll never tell.

Both my kids are home from college and I never get a chance to get on my computer. I just got done catching up on all your latest blogs. I loved them all and that cute little Gracie is something else. I do not need leopard skin panties to remember those big blue eyes that twinkle all the time, but of course they are perfect too. They started my summer off on the right track. hee hee. Lunch and a pedicure this Saturday 6/10? Let me know.

Man, you have it figured out. Our last two real vacations were to: 1) A giant Wisconsin Dells waterpark; and 2)the Black Hills of South Dakota in an RV. I do not recommend either.
